What is a fraternity or a sorority?
A fraternity/sorority is a group of men or women bound together
by brotherhood or sisterhood and common goals and aspirations.
The members that form a fraternity or sorority share their
efforts, friendship, and knowledge. Together these members
learn, grow and make the Greek organization stronger. Their
common experience builds ties that last a lifetime. This
forms a brotherhood or sisterhood amongst members which
helps to develop strong and creative leadership leading
to success.

Though there are many different fraternities and sororities,
they all share common founding principles. Greek organizations
enhance your educational experience by emphasizing intellectual,
interpersonal, and social development. The ideals of lifelong
friendship, sound education, campus and community service,
and social interaction are what Greek members strive to live
by every day.

What is
Recruitment?
Recruitment is the time when Sororities seek and recruit
new members. The recruitment events are at different times.
Recruitment is a time when students have an opportunity
to visit the groups and see what each has to offer.
>back
If I go
through Recruitment, do I have to join?
No. Recruitment is a time to see what Greek life can offer
you. Going through Recruitment and its functions does not
commit you to joining. We strongly suggest that you go
around the UCI campus and get to know all of the different
organizations before making your decision.

Do you have to live in a sorority house?
At this time our sorority does not have a house; therefore
many girls often live at home, in the dorms, or apartments.
Living in a house does not constitute being in a sorority.
The foundation of our sorority is built on the quality
of our sisterhood, not a house.

Will
the educational process affect my grades?
As students at UCI, our main purpose
here is to focus on our academic careers, therefore we
strive for those goals of academic excellence. Also, with
support from our sisters, it is hard to slack off without
someone helping you along the way. We do have a minimum
G.P.A. to pledge and expect girls to prioritize their time
to achieving those standards. It is not impossible to pledge
and succeed in school. It is in fact, extremely plausible.
