• Sigma Lambda Gamma is a 501© (7) non-profit fraternal organization incorporated in the State of Iowa.

• Sigma Lambda Gamma is a fully insured organization which covers our recognized sorority entities, both at the undergraduate and alumnae levels.

• Sigma Lambda Gamma has a fully operational headquarters office with paid staff members who support our sorority entities, National Board of Directors, and manage the daily operation of the National organization.

• Sigma Lambda Gamma is established as an academic, cultural, service and social organization dedicated to the promoting the empowerment of women in higher education. Our primary goal is to promote our evolving and diverse cultures through the five sorority ideals.

• Sigma Lambda Gamma encourages their undergraduate colonies and chapters to be recognized as a sorority at their respective institutions via Panhellenic Council and/or a Multi-cultural Greek Council. Sorority entities benefit from the resources provided by their Greek Affairs department.

• Sigma Lambda Gamma is the largest national Latina-based sorority with a diverse multicultural membership in the United States. The nationalities in our sisterhood reflect over 109 countries of origin.

• Sigma Lambda Gamma is a member organization of the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), the only national umbrella organization for Latino fraternities and sororities in the United States.

• Sigma Lambda Gamma membership is open to any woman who is registered as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited four year institution with a minimum 2.50/4.00 semester grade point average. Women interested in pursuing graduate affiliation should contact the National Vice President of Alumnae to discuss membership options.

• Sigma Lambda Gamma is located at eight of the ten colleges included in the Big 10 Conference and at the United States Military Academy – West Point.

• Sigma Lambda Gamma is proud to have as our national philanthropies, the TRIO Programs and Breast Cancer Awareness.
